Corporate Social Responsibility

Aware of our role in financing the economy, we are committed to conducting all of our activities in a responsible manner. Our Corporate & Social Responsibility policy focuses on environmental and social issues we encounter in running our businesses.

The different measures we have implemented include:

  • Environmental and Social General Guidelines for Business Engagement that define the standards we endorse in all our businesses. Our policies also set standards for activities involving sensitive sectors (oil, gas, mining, etc.) and transversal issues (biodiversity, climate change, etc.);
  • Measures to reduce the direct environmental impact of our activities: we have been “carbon neutral” since 2012. A Carbon Reduction Programme continues to contribute to this process;
  • A Citizenship Programme to strengthen our role in society and encourage our employees around the world to donate their time to work with the most deprived communities and facilitate their social integration through education.

Citizenship Programme in Asia Pacific

In Asia, we put our Citizen Commitment into practice through the involvement of our employees. Here, we support local charities through expert advice, employee volunteering and financial support. Initiatives include the Asia Pacific Bike Ride, reinforcement of Societe Generale’s global Citizen Commitment activities and the work of our local CSR Ambassadors.

Our Citizenship programme in Asia Pacific is particularly active in India, where we focus our CSR initiatives towards eradicating hunger, promoting education, women empowerment and community development.
