Societe Generale appoints Tomoyuki Sasai as Head of Global Markets, Japan
Societe Generale announced the appointment of Tomoyuki Sasai as Head of Global Markets, Japan, effective 1 September.
Based in Tokyo, Tomoyuki will lead the continued development of the Bank's Global Markets franchise in the country, while maintaining his current responsibilities as Head of Global Markets Sales, Japan. He will report functionally to Mohamed Braham, Head of Global Markets, Asia Pacific and Deputy Global Head of Fixed Income & Currencies, and locally to Koji Shimamoto, President of Societe Generale Securities Japan. He will join the Global Markets Asia Pacific Executive Committee and the Societe Generale Tokyo Branch Executive Committee.
He succeeds Marc Saffon, who will assume the role of Group Country Head for Japan on the same date.
Biography
Tomoyuki Sasai was appointed Head of Global Markets, Japan, effective 1 September 2026.
Prior to joining Societe Generale, Tomoyuki held senior roles in the Global Markets businesses of Lehman Brothers, J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Securities and Credit Suisse, with responsibilities spanning structured product sales and product development. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the Japanese market, specializing in the origination and distribution of structured solutions across derivatives, fixed income, funds, loans and reinsurance-linked products.
