
Societe Generale appoints Joseph Chia as Head of Supply Chain Management, Asia Pacific
Societe Generale announced the appointment of Joseph Chia as Head of Supply Chain Management, Asia Pacific, effective immediately. Based in Singapore, Joseph will report regionally to Soo Tat Kua, Head of Global Transaction and Payment Services, Asia Pacific and globally to Aurelien Viry, Chief Executive Officer, Societe Generale Factoring.

As corporate and multinational clients increasingly adopt Open Account Trade Finance solutions over traditional documentary trade instruments, Supply Chain Management has become a key pillar of Societe Generale’s transaction banking business.
Joseph will lead the development of the Bank’s Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) solutions across Asia Pacific, further strengthening its Supply Chain Management offering, enhancing its client value proposition, and advancing its transaction banking franchise.
Joseph brings over 25 years of experience in Supply Chain Finance, Trade Finance, and Transaction Banking across Asia Pacific, with a proven track record of leading regional businesses, driving product innovation, and delivering strong growth. He has deep expertise in working capital solutions, receivables and payables finance, digital trade, ESG-linked supply chain finance, and regional team development. In addition, he has extensive experience in building financial institutions (FI) trade franchises in emerging markets, including partnerships with multilateral agencies, export credit agencies (ECAs), and trade credit insurers.

Biography
Joseph Chia brings over 25 years of senior banking experience in corporate banking, structured commodity finance, and supply chain finance across Asia Pacific.
Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Regional Group Sales, Financial Supply Chain Management at UOB, where he led the delivery of working capital and supply chain finance solutions for corporate clients across the region.
Prior to joining UOB, Joseph spent more than 17 years at SMBC, culminating in his role as Group Head of Supply Chain Finance, Asia Pacific, where he led regional teams and drove business growth, product innovation, and client solutions across 13 markets.
Joseph holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Abilene Christian University in Texas, United States.
