
Societe Generale appoints Rajat Kohli as Head of Global Markets for India
Societe Generale announces the appointment of Rajat Kohli as Head of Global Markets for India. He replaces Gopal Bhattacharya who decided to pursue other opportunities outside the Group.
Based in Mumbai, Rajat reports locally to Evelyne Collin, Chief Executive and Chief Country Officer, India and regionally to Arnaud Lhoste, Head of Markets Sales for South East Asia and India.
Rajat brings with him over 14 years of experience in the financial markets across various asset classes. His mission is to further develop Societe Generale’s markets activities in India including derivatives, foreign exchange and INR products.
The Societe Generale Group has been present in India since 1978. For its institutional and corporate clients comprising of both large Indian companies and multinationals, Societe Generale offers a range of banking and financial services: commercial banking, structured finance and advisory, commodity hedging, derivatives and money markets, payments and cash management, trade finance and correspondent banking through its branches in Mumbai, Delhi and Sanand (Gujarat). The Group through its various affiliates also operates a Broking and Securities business in Mumbai, a Leasing and Fleet management business across major metros and an offshore development centre located in Bangalore and Chennai.
Biography:
Rajat Kohli has more than 14 years of experience in the financial markets across various asset classes. He was previously working at BNP Paribas for 11 years, with his most recent role as Head of Institutional Business in their Global Markets division. He has also served as Head of Origination and Credit Sales and has vast experience handling several structured products across different asset classes. Prior to BNP Paribas, Rajat worked at Citibank for the markets division in Mumbai and Singapore. Rajat has an MBA from IIM Lucknow and is a qualified Cost Accountant.
