Easts Juniors play for victory in Sydney
Junior tournament marks Societe Generale's role as a worldwide sponsor of rugby.
As part of the Rugby World Cup build-up, Eastern Suburbs District RUFC (Easts) in Sydney organized a Juniors Gala on 25 July, to promote rugby and to highlight Societe Generale's sponsorship of the RWC 2015.
Easts is a district club that runs senior, colts and juniors competitions. Under the umbrella of Easts, the junior clubs have their own name (Wallaroos, Bays, et cetera). In the mini tournament, four teams from the junior clubs played against each other, representing the three southern hemisphere nations (Australia, New Zealand and South Africa) and France, the latter in recognition of Societe Generale. The jerseys were representative of the respective nations' colors and were Societe Generale branded. After the tournament, the players received a mini SG rugby ball with RWC 2015 logo as a gift for their participation.
The Junior Tournament had high visibility across the club and marked Societe Generale's role as a worldwide sponsor of rugby. Toby Lawson (Head of Global Markets, Australia): "I think it's a really good example of how to build brand support and recognition."
Societe Generale is the proud sponsor of Eastern Suburbs District RUFC in Sydney, Australia's oldest District Rugby Club. As the oldest and most successful club in Australia, with a total of 79 premiership titles or shields across Grade and Colts from 1900 to 2015, and an additional 9 club championships titles, the club is a famous breeding ground for young promising athletes. Nowadays, Easts Rugby is served by a dedicated group of players, supporters, administrators and board members who are looking to carry on the club's strong traditions and write the next chapter in the Eastern Suburbs District RUFC history pages.
