Blue Mountains
The 7th edition of the Asia Pacific Bike Ride broke our fundraising record. 136 colleagues who participated raised more than 150,000 euro for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation in Australia and other local charity partners in the region.
The 2016 Bike Ride took place at the UNESCO world heritage site of Blue Mountains, 100 kilometers from Sydney, from 7 to 9 October. A diverse group of riders from eight different locations – Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, India and Australia – came together for a unified purpose: to raise funds and awareness for Societe Generale's charity partners in Asia Pacific.
We are delighted to see such strong support from our colleagues across the Asia Pacific region. This year, the bike ride was even more physically challenging as the Blue Mountains is a rugged region with steep cliffs, forest and waterfalls. With team spirit, we supported one another to get to the finish line. The annual charity bike ride has proven to be one of our most anticipated regional events to pull together our colleagues’ collective efforts to make a real difference in the communities in which we operate.
