My name is Ana de Pedro, I am from the Philippines and I have been working in Singapore for almost 9 years.

I am currently IT Production Client Relationship Manager for the Singapore Fixed Income and Sales users. My main responsibilities are to liaise with the Fixed Income and Sales users in Singapore on all cross-functional issues related to IT production and ensure the quality of delivery.

I joined Societe Generale in March 2015. Before that, I was with Newedge Singapore and worked as a team leader in their Asia Pacific Network Operations Centre. Newedge is now part of Societe Generale.

The work culture here is fun but also competitive, and there is a strong culture of service.

Everyone strives to grow as individuals, but more importantly as a team. Societe Generale is a well known and reputable organization where you can meet many smart and skilled people coming from different backgrounds. This allows me – and everyone here – to learn new things from colleagues every day.

My work is challenging and dynamic, as I am working in the dealing room, but also rewarding as I learn a lot. I value my working relationship with my colleagues both from the IT side and business side. There is a strong collaborative and cooperative support system. The Information Technology department is a great place to work and I really appreciate their understanding and their help with getting me up to speed.

As an IT Production Client Relationship Manager, my priority is to ensure the production quality for our Fixed Income and Sales teams in Singapore.

I am also involved in local IT initiatives and transversal processes, including the integration of the former Newedge organisation, which is now Societe Generale Securities Singapore. I have to ensure that I am up to date with all the production topics and events occurring overnight, and control how these issues impact users and clients. I will track-up and ensure that each issue will be given the appropriate attention.

My key contribution is to reinforce the production support between the IT department and our Business Lines. I make sure that everyone involved is aware of the relevant IT production topics and how that could help or impact our clients.

Societe Generale offers numerous opportunities in the banking field as well as in various other fields.

I would advise candidates to do their own research prior to applying for a position. It’s important to fully understand the services that an employer can offer, and then determine the roles that will suit you best. Read about it, liaise when possible with people working in the company, as well as understand the current banking environment. This will definitively help you.

Societe Generale offered me the opportunity to start a new chapter in my career.

Prior to joining Societe Generale, I was working for Newedge, the global multi-asset brokerage firm where I was the APAC Network Operations Centre lead.

Following the integration with Societe Generale, I took the position of IT Client Relationship Manager and it was a whole new start in my career. However, the transition process has been very transparent and with the understanding and guidance of both my manager and the team, I was able to adapt easily in this new role, and settle with ease. Societe Generale’s strong support system greatly helped me during this transition period.

The internal training program is one of the best development programs that I have experienced in my career.

During the past months, I have attended numerous trainings covering a wide range of topics related to my core competencies, as well as other such as persuasive communication skills and managing emotional intelligence. Since joining Societe Generale, I have developed my skills in business impact analysis related to IT production for global markets, but also improved my competencies in incident and tasks management.

These trainings were taught in various forms: workshops, classroom training, e-learning modules, lunch-and-learn sessions, as well as knowledge breakfast sessions. This strong people-oriented organization helps me to broaden my perspective and enhance my competencies portfolio which I can leverage on every day.

For the upcoming years, I aspire to continue bringing added value to clients and to serving them the best I can in any role that I may find myself in.
